Samadana/m works to achieve a multi-ethnic and peaceful society in which people have the ability, courage and willingness to manage their own conflicts in a Non-Violent way by providing the necessary knowledge skills and creating a safe neutral space for differing parties to discuss their problems.

The Need
The need for peace can be seen in every dimension of human life, personal, social and between nations. Against the backdrop of violence and war NGOs and community groups struggle to seek alternative ways of resolving conflict.The conflict situation in Sri Lanka which spans over decades bears testimony for the need to promote a culture of Non-Violence in Sri lanka. |
Our Origin
A group of people who underwent training on Non-Violent Conflict Resolution in the years 1992 and 1993 through the workshops held by Quaker Peace and Services, felt of the need to promote the concept of Non-Violence, as the country was moving, more and more towards a violent culture.
